Details:An iron alloy composed mainly of silicon, chromium and iron. Also known as silicon chromium iron alloy. It is mainly used as an intermediate alloy for the production of medium, low and micro carbon iron by electric silicon heat method. Used as deoxidizer (instead of ferrosilicon) and chromium additive in steelmaking. Generally contains Cr>30%, Si>35%, the balance of iron and a small amount of impurities. According to the classification of carbon content, such as carbon ≤ 0.06%, ≤ 0.10%, ≤ 1.0%, etc..
In addition, silicon chromium alloy is also used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent for steelmaking. With the development of oxygen steelmaking technology, the use of silicon-chromium alloy to reduce the chromium in the steel slag and add some chromium has been widely used.
